Daisetta takes its name from two residents, Daisy Barrett and Etta White, and its streets sit on top of the Hull salt dome. The town grew after the Hull oilfield came in nearby in 1918.
What we find in Daisetta homes, and how it shapes a Bosch repair here.
The 2020 census found 923 residents and 364 housing units, with about 13 percent vacant. The population peaked near 3,000 during the oil years and has declined since. A fire in 1924 forced the town to rebuild, and most homes today are modest single-family houses.
Daisetta capped its own well over water quality concerns and buys water from the Hull Fresh Water Supply District. The district's only well failed after 65 years in service, and a new well was being built to replace it.
The salt dome under Daisetta has produced sinkholes, including one in 2008 that grew to about 600 by 525 feet. Ground movement is rare day to day, but a level check on a washer or refrigerator is worth doing if it starts to rock.
Daisetta homes tend to have simple kitchens: a range, a refrigerator and often a dishwasher added later. Bosch compact laundry is a good fit where the laundry space is small.
Daisetta sits two miles south of Hull at the junction of Farm Roads 770 and 834. We combine visits here with Hull and Hardin and schedule them for the next day. Small towns like this one are easy to reach once we are on the route, so the main wait is the drive from Houston.
When the Hull district’s well went down, both towns were left without water for a time. Outages like that are hard on appliances that use water. When service returns, air and sediment come through the lines first. Run a kitchen faucet until the water is clear, then replace the refrigerator filter and throw out the first batches of ice. If a dishwasher or washer shows a fill error after the outage, the inlet screen is likely clogged; we can clean it during a visit.
Sediment stirred up when service returns can block the small screen at the inlet valve. Turn off the water and check the hose connection if you are comfortable doing it, or we can clean or replace the valve.
Everyday settling is slow and rarely harms an appliance directly, but a refrigerator or washer that is no longer level can vibrate, leak or close poorly. Re-leveling the feet usually fixes it.
Yes. The two towns are only two miles apart, so we usually book them on the same next-day route along with nearby Hardin, and one technician covers all three.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
