Murky water left in the tub after a cycle points to a short list of causes. Work through them in order, from the easy filter rinse to the pump.
You pull the door open expecting clean, steaming dishes and find a shallow pool of gray water instead. A Bosch dishwasher that will not empty has usually run into a clog, a bent hose, or a tired pump, and you can rule out the first two yourself in a few minutes.
Begin with the filter. Slide out the bottom rack, twist the cylindrical filter free, and rinse it under the tap. Seeds, label scraps, and bits of broken glass love to pack into it, and a partly choked filter is enough to slow the outflow and bring up code E24.
Next, look at the drain hose. Slide the machine out slightly, if it moves freely, and follow the hose from the cabinet wall. A crimp, especially after a remodel or a recent move, can hold water back even though nothing is stuck inside.
If the tub still holds water after those checks, the drain pump is the next suspect. A jammed or worn pump is what usually sits behind code E25. Reaching it means disconnecting water and power connections in a cramped space, so this is the point where we suggest stopping and handing it over.
A clean filter and a straight hose that still leave you with standing water mean a technician should look at the pump. Please keep the machine unplugged until then. Our technicians bring common drain pumps for a Bosch dishwasher, so many of these jobs finish during one appointment.
