Henry and Amelia Griffith first ran cattle here. After a 1985 industrial explosion over the salt dome, the city moved about two miles east. Its population grew from 3,835 in 2010 to 7,654 in 2020, and the city has run its own broadband service, MB Link, since 2019.
The city owns five water wells between 400 and 950 feet deep, disinfects the water with chlorine gas and pumps it at 65 to 70 psi. That pressure is on the high side, so braided supply lines and a pressure check help appliances.

With well water pumped at 65 to 70 psi, supply connections deserve attention. Pressure at that level is normal for the city, but older rubber hoses and plastic fittings can weaken under it. Use braided steel hoses for the washer and refrigerator, and check under the dishwasher now and then for drips. If you notice banging pipes when the washer or dishwasher shuts off its water, a water hammer arrestor or a pressure regulator may help.
Usually it is the plumbing. When a valve closes quickly under strong pressure, pipes can knock. A water hammer arrestor at the washer hookup often fixes it. We check the inlet valve too, just in case.
Bosch appliances are built for normal household pressure, but strong pressure can stress weak hoses and fittings. We check the supply line and connections during any visit.
