The cycle stops with E25 on the display and wastewater remains in the tub, sometimes with a humming or rattling noise from below as the pump tries to move something. The control has checked the drain pump and found it is blocked, or that its cover is loose or missing, so it cannot push water out. E24 is similar, but E25 points at the pump itself rather than the filter or hose.
1. Turn the dishwasher off at the breaker before doing anything. 2. Remove the lower filter by hand and look into the opening with a flashlight. 3. Check that the pump cover is present and sitting flat, without pushing on it. 4. Do not put your fingers or tools into the pump housing. If anything looks missing, crooked or broken, close it up and call us.
Not quite. E24 usually means the filter or hose is clogged, while E25 points to the pump or its cover. We check both because one can mask the other.
Bailing out water is fine for cleanup, but running more loads is not. Water that cannot leave will keep returning, so wait for us to inspect the pump.
