Press Start and nothing fills; the display reads Er:01 and the washer acts as though its door were open. On the Nexxt and Vision front-loaders Bosch defines this as the door switch not being actuated or the lock not engaging. You may also see it written E:01 on a WFMC3200, while the WFMC6400 and Vision machines print Er:01, so owners often search both versions.
1. Open the door all the way and look around the rubber seal for a sock or sleeve caught in it. 2. Wipe the latch tongue on the door with a dry cloth, removing lint and dried detergent. 3. Close the door with a firm push until you feel it catch. 4. Start a short cycle. If the error repeats and the latch looks cracked or bent, stop and call us.
Some Bosch models, such as the WFMC3200, label the door problem E:01, while others, such as the WFMC6400, show Er:01. The meaning is the same.

Yes. Overfilling pushes clothing into the seal so the door can't seat. Lighten the load and see whether the lock catches before assuming the part has failed.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
