What Er:10 means

Er:10 shows up on Nexxt front-loaders when the readings from the inlet flow meter make no sense to the control. That meter is a tiny turbine fitted in the water inlet; it counts what enters the machine, so the washer measures water taken instead of guessing from valve time. Bosch's documentation lists the meter itself or its wiring as the reasons.

Common causes of Er:10

  • Turbine inside the meter jammed or worn
  • Wiring leading to the meter damaged
  • Grit from the supply lines getting into the inlet
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Close both supply taps. 2. Unscrew the two inlet hoses at the tap end, with a towel beneath to catch drips. 3. Look into each hose coupling for the small mesh screen and rinse it under a faucet until it is clear of grit. 4. Reattach the hoses hand-tight plus a quarter turn and reopen the taps.

! Why to stop there
  • Over-tightening the hose couplings cracks the plastic fittings and starts a slow leak.
  • The screens are the only part you can safely reach, and they protect the flow meter further in.
  • Opening the inlet assembly to inspect the turbine involves water lines and harness plugs that are easy to damage.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Er:10Er:10 questions
How does the washer measure what comes in?

A small turbine spins as water passes and the control counts the spins. If those counts look impossible, it stops the fill rather than risk an overflow.

Can dirty water supply cause this?

Grit and scale can lodge in the turbine and slow it. Screens catch most of it, but over time some particles reach the meter. Cleaning the screens helps, but a worn turbine still needs a technician.

Should I run the washer with Er:10 showing?

No. Without a reliable water count the control may overfill or underfill, so it stops the cycle. Cleaning the hose screens is safe to try, but anything beyond that is best left to a technician.
