What E011 means

You may notice the range ignoring touches, beeping on its own, or showing E011 as soon as power returns. The control board is reporting that one key on the panel looks pressed all the time, so it stops trusting input from the pad. It is the same stuck-key problem Bosch wall ovens report, and because a range shares one board between oven and cooktop, the effect can spread past the oven.

Common causes of E011

  • Moisture or a film of cooking grease under the panel, which is the easiest thing to rule out first
  • A button that is physically jammed or cracked
  • A worn-out membrane overlay that now reads as pressed permanently
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn the range off at the breaker and let the glass and trim cool. 2. Wipe the panel with a barely damp cloth, then dry it completely, especially along the edges of the keys. 3. Leave it for a few minutes, restore power, and try the controls again. 4. If E011 returns, stop there and call us rather than lifting the panel.

! Why to stop there
  • The panel on a range sits over live wiring for both the oven and the cooktop, so opening it with power on is a shock risk.
  • A stuck key looks a lot like a dead control board, and swapping the board that serves both halves of the range is an expensive wrong guess.
  • Pushing a tool under a membrane can tear it and take out keys that were working.
  • A connector seated slightly off after a reassembly can disable functions on either side of the range.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E011E011 questions
Can a stuck key on the panel shut down the burners as well?

Possibly. Oven and cooktop run from the same board, so until the key reads normally, functions on both sides can be limited. We would treat the whole range as limited until the panel reads normally again.

Is the repair different from a wall oven with this code?

No. The diagnosis follows the same path as on a Bosch wall oven, because the control design is nearly identical. The part that differs is only the cabinet around it, not the way we trace the stuck key.

Will repairing the panel affect what the manufacturer covers?

Coverage depends on your purchase date and terms, so check them before anyone opens the panel. Our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty, with a written price before we begin.
