What F11 means

On an older Bosch Evolution range, F11 means the control sees a key held down. The manual says simply keeping any key pressed for more than thirty seconds produces it. It adds a less obvious route: if the oven sensor's wiring bleeds or shorts to the range chassis, the same code can appear, which is why the procedure includes measuring resistance from each sensor wire to bare metal.

Common causes of F11

  • Keypad that is stuck or shorted
  • Something leaning on the panel
  • Sensor circuit leaking to the chassis
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Switch off the breaker for thirty seconds. 2. Look over the panel and remove anything pressing on it: a dish towel, a cutting board or a pan handle can all rest on a key. 3. Turn power back on. 4. If F11 returns with nothing touching the panel, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Checking the sensor wires against the chassis needs a meter and access behind the range.
  • A leaking sensor circuit does not look like a sensor problem on the screen, so the keypad often takes the blame.
  • Replacing a keypad that only had a towel on it is an avoidable bill.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F11F11 questions
Can leaning on a key really cause F11?

Yes. The manual says holding any key for over thirty seconds does it, so look for an object on the panel before anything else. It is also the cheapest possible explanation.

How can a sensor wire produce a keypad code?

A leak from the sensor circuit to the chassis can mimic a pressed key on this control; the manual documents it as a quirk of the platform.

Is repairing such an old range sensible?

Often, since a stuck key or a chafed sensor wire is a small repair. You get a written price first, so the decision stays with you.
