Move up from the SHE2A and the SHE41CM5N is next. Bosch keeps it in the 100 Series with 12 place settings, but drops the sound rating to 48 dBA and builds it around a deeper tub that measures 23 3/4 inches. Inside you get stainless steel, PrecisionWash soil sensing and Home Connect.
For a technician the big change is leak protection. Bosch replaces the plain overflow float with AquaStop: a double-walled inlet hose carrying a solenoid at the tap end. Should the outer sleeve spring a leak, the water is stopped at the valve and never reaches the base pan.
Three jobs come up repeatedly. AquaStop can trip and cut off the fill if the sleeve of the hose or the pan float is wet. Hard water silts the spray arm holes, so the upper rack washes poorly. And stretched springs and cables let the door drop instead of lowering smoothly. We check the hose and the pan first, because they explain a machine that will not fill.
It is the typical AquaStop reaction. The system found water in the wrong place and is shielding your floor. Shut the supply valve under the sink first, then book a diagnostic instead of restarting it repeatedly.
It deserves a prompt fix, particularly where children are about. The cause is a stretched or broken door cable on its pulley, which is an ordinary part to replace and has no link to the wash system.
Check the spray arm holes. Mineral deposits from hard water can narrow them, so the arm sprays weakly and the upper rack suffers while the lower one stays fine. Cleaning or replacing the arm is the usual cure.
