SHE3AEM2N

Bosch SHE3AEM2N

Most common issues on this model

  1. Base-pan float tripped by a small, slow weep from the circulation pump seal
  2. Cycles running far past their normal length because the soil sensor reads dirty water
  3. A spray arm with a worn bearing that wobbles and misses the upper rack

White-fronted and rated 50 dBA, the SHE3AEM2N was the entry model of the earlier 100 Series generation, offering 14 place settings and PrecisionWash sensing. Bosch gave it the 24/7 Overflow Protection System in place of full AquaStop, and that tells us where to begin if the machine stops filling.

With overflow protection, the trip is the float in the base pan beneath the tub. No solenoid sits at the tap, so we inspect from underneath and not from behind, and a small weep around the circulation pump seal is a regular finding.

Age brings two more items. Cycles may drag on far longer than normal when the soil sensor reads the water as dirty, because PrecisionWash answers by rinsing longer. And a spray arm with a worn bearing wobbles off its path and misses the upper rack. We check the sensor lens and the arm before looking at the heater.

SHE3AEM2NSHE3AEM2N questions
Washes now last over three hours. Is something broken?

Not always. Sensing keeps the rinse going until the water looks clean, so a very dirty load, or a lens coated in film, stretches the program. If light loads take as long, the sensor or heater should be checked.

Would I notice water collecting beneath the machine?

Probably not. The pan underneath is closed in, and the float acts before any water gets out onto the floor. For that reason, a stop in the middle of a fill gets inspected here and is not simply restarted.

Why does the upper rack seem to be missed by the spray?

A worn bearing lets the arm wobble away from its track. Fitting a new arm or bearing brings the spray back where it belongs, at little cost.
