Bosch built the SHE863WF5N in the generation just before today’s SHE53C family, and the overlap is large enough that many parts cross between them. This is a stainless 300 Series dishwasher rated 44 dBA, with a 23 3/4 inch deep tub, a third rack and capacity for 16 place settings.
Between the two, most of the change is in the electronics: the main board and the Wi-Fi module. Bosch dishwashers tend to evolve that way, which is why a mechanically sound unit from this period is seldom scrap. Parts for the wash side, such as pumps and filters, are the ones that cross over.
On visits we run into narrow third-rack jets that scale shut, wheels flattened by cast iron cookware, and a Wi-Fi module that has stopped while the washing electronics remain healthy.
The wash does not need it. A network chip may die while everything else works, and if you do not use the app you can live without it. A written price for a board comes from us first, so the decision stays with you.
Silverware sits on a rack with its own small spray jets, and scale closes them long before the big arms clog. Lift the rack out and inspect those jets first.
Close enough that numerous parts interchange between the two. The main board and the Wi-Fi module are where they differ most, so we check those against your plate.
