E:10 is a drying-system code. During its self-check the control read the heater tucked inside the zeolite container and got a resistance outside the normal range. That heater is part of the container, and Bosch says it cannot be bought on its own. The documented repair is therefore either the wiring that feeds it or the whole container as one assembly. Wash results usually stay normal while drying slips.
1. Leave the machine closed; no part of this circuit is safe for a homeowner to test. 2. Think back over recent weeks and decide whether drying faded slowly or quit all at once. 3. Mention that when you call. A slow fade tends to mean a tiring heater, while a sudden stop points toward wiring that has come loose.
The container is the larger repair, which is why we check the wiring first. We give you a written price for whichever job the testing supports, before any part is ordered.
Not in itself. The control has flagged a heater reading, not a leak or a shock risk. Still, avoid repeated cycles with drying if you smell anything hot or see scorch marks.
Rinse aid helps water sheet off dishes, so it never hurts, but it does not replace the heater. If the container cannot heat, drying will stay weak whatever you add.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
