The HDIP056U tops Bosch’s range offering in the United States. It is a Benchmark dual fuel slide-in with five gas burners rated 55,000 BTU together, over a 4.6 cu ft electric oven with convection. Most owners pay for the oven’s temperature stability, and it all hangs on one small part, the sensor inside the cavity.
When that sensor drifts, nothing announces it. The display looks normal, no code appears, and a very precise oven slowly becomes an ordinary one. Cakes bake less evenly, roasts take longer, and people assume their own technique slipped. A thermometer on the middle shelf will expose it in minutes.
Two other ageing points are worth knowing. The convection fan motor wears and affects every circulating mode, and the cooktop simmer valve can drift out of adjustment over the years. We check sensor accuracy first and bring a thermometer for it.
The oven temperature sensor. The change is slow and silent, and it makes a precise oven bake inconsistently with no code to tell you why. A thermometer on the middle shelf shows it quickly.
Close to the setpoint once preheated and settled. If a thermometer on the center rack reads well away from it, the sensor or its calibration needs checking.
It can. The cooktop simmer valve adjustment may drift over the years, so the lowest flame becomes too high or too weak for gentle cooking. We can inspect and readjust it during a visit.
