Gas oven or electric oven makes a real difference when a range needs repair, and the HGS8055UC has a gas oven. A fan circulates the air, but the heat comes from a bake burner lit by an igniter and gated by a safety valve, so there is no electric convection element that can burn out. The rest of the range is an 800 Series build, 30 inches wide, with five sealed burners adding up to 76,500 BTU, with a 3.6 cu ft oven below.
That layout explains why one problem dominates. When a Bosch gas oven will not heat, the cause is almost always a weak igniter. It keeps glowing, but it can no longer pull the current needed to open the valve, so gas never reaches the burner. Early on you may only notice a very slow preheat.
On the cooktop, an uneven flame is often a burner cap seated wrong after cleaning. When we visit, we check igniter current and the caps first, because those two items explain most of what owners report.
A worn igniter can glow without drawing enough current to open the gas safety valve. With the valve closed, no gas flows. Replacing the igniter fixes it.
We would stop and call us. The valve staying closed is the safety system working, and repeated attempts on a weak igniter are how gas smell builds up in a kitchen.
Check the burner cap first. A cap seated off-center after cleaning gives an uneven flame, and lifting it off and setting it back usually settles it.
