Where a swing door would be awkward, the HMD8451UC offers a motorized drawer, and that is why it lives under counters. It cooks at 950W, with sensor cooking programs and a soft-close drawer. The convenience brings a mechanical track system that an ordinary microwave does not have.
As a result, most model-specific calls have little to do with cooking. They are about the drawer failing to open or close fully. A jammed drawer must not be forced by hand, since that damages the track. Liquid spilled near the motorized track can also reach the control panel and cause trouble of its own.
Some long cycles end with an E2 automatic safety shutoff. We look at the track and motor first, then the panel, and test a full cooking cycle. The cooking side rarely needs anything.
Leave it alone and switch the power off. A stuck drawer is usually the track or the motor, not the cooking system, and pulling it by hand risks bending the mechanism. Then call us.
The two are installed differently, cabinet versus wall mount, and neither is harder. Reaching the parts for repair is generally easy once the drawer mechanism is understood.
The E2 automatic safety shutoff may have responded to the extended cycle. Let it cool, then try a shorter cycle. If it comes back, we look for the cause.
