Bosch advertised a 24-hour delay start for the SHE53TL5UC, a stainless dishwasher with a deep tub for 15 place settings, a RackMatic upper rack, AquaStop and EasyGlide racks. That delay feature lies behind one of the calls we take most often on this generation.
Someone presses Start, hears nothing for hours, and decides the control board is dead. On these machines the delay is signaled by a small light, never a countdown, and the light is simple to miss.
Once that is ruled out, the other items on our list are EasyGlide rollers that flatten under heavy pans, and a sump seal that weeps slowly and trips the base-pan float, so water shows up under the machine while the tub looks dry.
Check the delay light before anything else. Here it is a tiny lamp with no countdown, and a delay left over from an earlier load behaves exactly like a machine that has died.
Most likely the seal where the circulation pump joins the tub. It weeps down into the pan beneath, never into the tub, so the inside of the machine looks perfectly dry.
Probably the rack rollers. Heavy pans flatten them gradually, and a new set brings back the smooth glide that the rack had when the machine was new.
