The SHV78DM3N is a fully integrated 800 Series dishwasher from the D run, rated 42 dBA, with three racks, 16 place settings and CrystalDry drying. It also has Home Connect and AquaStop Plus. Controls and the status display are placed along the upper edge of the door.
In a handleless kitchen with push-to-open fronts, the closed door shows nothing at all. You cannot tell if the machine is running or has stopped, and that is the reason the Home Connect app earns its place on this configuration.
On service visits we look at two more things: whether a push-to-open mechanism on the cabinet fights the dishwasher’s own latch, and whether liquid has run down onto the top-edge strip while the door was open.
The cabinet's push-to-open mechanism may be pushing back against the dishwasher's own latch. Ease that cabinet catch and test again before anyone replaces a latch.
Use the Home Connect app. It reports status without you opening the door, and it is also the quickest way to get a code to us before we arrive for a visit.
Keep liquid away from the control strip. A lightly damp cloth is fine, but water that runs inside can upset the contacts, so dry the edge well afterward.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
