If your Bosch dryer quit mid-cycle with E:01 on the display, it shut itself down for running too hot. The documented reason is restricted airflow, meaning a lint filter or exhaust duct that has clogged. Detection comes from the burner or lint-screen temperature sensor. Bosch's own first instruction for this code is simple: halt the dryer straight away, and do not simply start it again.
1. Stop the dryer and leave the door open so heat can escape. 2. Pull the lint filter and clean it. If the mesh looks clear but feels sealed, wash it by hand in warm water with dish soap. 3. Wait for the drum to cool completely. 4. Start the program again. Should E:01 return, leave the dryer alone and call us.
Further along the exhaust path. Duct cleaning that covers the stretch inside the wall and the outdoor flap is what normally resolves it once the filter has been ruled out.
Bosch's manual explains that the very fine mesh clogs gradually when softener or dryer sheets are in use. It needs a hand wash with dish soap and water; brushing alone leaves the film.
Only after the filter is clean, and only once. If E:01 comes back, repeated hot runs against a blocked duct are exactly how a nuisance turns dangerous, so stop and call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
