The display asks for the trays to be emptied, and it keeps asking after you have done it. Two electrical contacts sit above the drip tray. When liquid rises and touches both, the resistance between them drops and the machine reads the tray as full. So a message that persists usually means water or damp grounds are still bridging those contacts, not that the trays are full.
1. Pull out the drip tray and the dregs drawer and empty both. 2. Wipe the contact area carefully with a soft cloth, getting rid of any damp grounds or water film. 3. Dry everything, then slide the trays back in until they sit flush. 4. Run one drink. If the message stays, call us.
Damp grounds or a thin film of water can connect the two contacts, so the machine still reads the tray as full. Drying the contact area thoroughly usually resolves it.
Empty them whenever the machine asks, and wipe the dregs drawer area regularly. Letting wet grounds sit invites buildup around the contacts, which is the main source of nuisance messages.
Not necessarily. Most cases are residue. If cleaning and drying do not help, the contacts or their wiring may need attention, and we quote the repair in writing before starting.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
