The machine powers up or starts a drink, then stops and shows Error 1. Somewhere in the heating circuit, the temperature sensor is giving a reading the control cannot trust, so it refuses to brew rather than send water of unknown heat through the coffee. You may notice it after a descale was skipped, or after the machine has been moved. Until the sensor reading makes sense again, drinks are blocked.
1. Turn the machine off with its power switch. 2. Wait 30 seconds, then switch it back on. 3. Let it run its rinse and heat-up, and try one drink. 4. If Error 1 comes back, stop and call us. Do not open the housing or pull the sensor wires; the heater circuit runs on household voltage.
Sometimes, if the sensor only glitched. When the reading was truly off, the error returns as soon as the machine heats again. One restart is a fair test, but repeated restarts do not repair anything.
We advise against it. The control cannot tell how hot the water is, so it blocks heating on purpose. Forcing other functions risks scalding or damaging the boiler, and the repair is better done first.
