The refrigerator may run nonstop, switch on and off in an odd rhythm, or let the food compartment drift out of the safe range, and E01 appears. The control board is not getting a usable reading from the temperature sensor in the refrigerator compartment, either because the sensor is giving bad data or because it has stopped communicating. Without that reading the board is steering blind.
1. Open the fresh food section and look at the back wall and the vents. 2. Move anything that is pressing against the wall or covering a vent, so air can circulate. 3. Give the refrigerator several hours to settle, then check whether E01 is gone. If it is still showing, the sensor or its wiring is the likely cause and it is time to call us.
Check with a thermometer: the refrigerator section should stay at or below 40F. If it is warmer, move perishables to a cooler until we can look at it.
Only for a moment at best. A sensor that is actually bad will bring the code back as soon as the board reads it again.
When the sensor is the cause, yes. We confirm that first, give you a written price, and cover the repair with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
