You press for coffee and hear the grinder run oddly, or hear nothing, then Error 7 appears and the cup stays empty. The machine monitors how the grinder behaves, and what it saw did not match a normal grind. The cause is often as ordinary as a bean path coated in oil or a grind setting pushed too far. Less often, the burrs themselves have worn down.
1. Switch the machine off. 2. Look in the bean container: is it empty, or are the beans shiny and sticking to the walls? 3. Wipe the container dry and refill with fresh, less oily beans. 4. Set the grind a notch coarser, only while the grinder is running, then try again. If Error 7 repeats, call us.
Yes. Very oily dark roasts leave a sticky film that can clog the grinder path. Switching to a drier bean and cleaning the container often helps, especially when the error began after a bean change.
Usually it is minor, rated low, and often a cleaning or setting issue. If it persists with clean beans, the burrs may be worn, which we can check and quote in writing.
Clean the bean container regularly and follow the manual's maintenance schedule. Oils build up with use, and regular cleaning is the simplest way to avoid repeat errors and keep the grinder working.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
