Halfway through a roast the oven cuts out and E122 appears. The probe in the meat socket is reporting a temperature above what the oven will tolerate, so heating stays off until it is removed. Bosch's first suggestion is a simple question: was it plugged in but left lying loose in the oven? Sitting in open air, a probe heats up quickly and, in a sense, correctly reports a number beyond its range.
1. Wearing an oven mitt, pull the probe's plug from its socket. 2. Lift the probe out of the cavity. 3. Restart your bake without it. 4. If the oven now heats, the probe or its use was the cause. If E122 comes back with no probe inside, call us.
Heating pauses until the probe is removed. A roast that stalled this way usually just needs the probe out and the cycle restarted, perhaps with the probe actually in the meat next time.
Not necessarily. First ask whether the probe lay loose on a rack while plugged in; that alone produces exactly the reading this code reports, and costs nothing to correct.
Yes. Grease in the socket can give false readings, so with the oven cold, a gentle wipe is a reasonable step before buying anything. Never wipe the socket while the oven is warm.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
