The bottom oven of a Bosch double wall unit is holding its door shut, and E207 is on the screen. Either the inside is still hotter than the level at which the control dares let the door go, or the latch is not behaving as the control expects. The oven tries to open it for a minute and quits. If the latch later shows as open for more than ten seconds, the message vanishes.
1. Stay away from the door until the bottom oven is stone cold; a cleaning cycle heats it well past ordinary baking. 2. After that, switch the breaker off for several minutes and back on. 3. Pull the handle gently. 4. Never pry or lever a locked oven door, whatever else you try.
Until the lower cavity is completely cold, which can take several hours after a self-clean. Many locks release on their own once the temperature drops far enough.
The two ovens have separate cavities and latches, so the upper oven can usually be used normally. We would still like the lower latch checked.
We test the latch motor, the position switch and the wiring, then give you a written price before starting. Our workmanship carries a 30-day warranty, and the visit is often a single trip.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
