The B36CD52SNB wears a black stainless coat. That is a coating applied to steel, not a separate alloy, and the cabinet underneath is the same 500 Series counter-depth French door used for the stainless sibling. People pick it for the darker, moodier look in the kitchen.
The coating is what needs protecting. No other appliance surface draws as many cosmetic complaints: magnets, suction hooks and scouring cleaners all leave marks that will not polish out, and fingerprints and cleaner residue stand out on a dark surface. Better to mention it now than after the first magnet has gone on.
Mechanically it is the familiar 500 Series: capacity in the 21.6 cubic foot class inside a 70 inch cabinet, QuickIce Pro, UltraClarityPro filtration and Home Connect remote monitoring. When we visit, we treat it like any French door refrigerator and look at hinge and gasket wear, then offer cleaning advice that keeps the finish looking right.
Better not to. Anything that slides across the surface scratches the coating, and unlike plain stainless there is no buffing it back to its original look afterward.
Use a soft damp cloth and mild detergent, and dry the door straight afterward. Avoid stainless polish, scouring creams and solvent wipes, since each of them eats into the coating.
Not in any satisfying way. Since the finish is a coating, marks cannot be polished out, so avoiding them in the first place is the best protection for the door.
