Black stainless on a 26 cubic foot standard-depth French door, the B36FD52SNB is a 500 Series refrigerator that shows every fingerprint and, usefully, every drop of moisture. Houston summers make that visible: on a muggy afternoon a faint band of dampness along the center mullion is normal, and the cabinet heater clears it.
A wet line there in ordinary conditions is a different matter. It means warm air is slipping past the door seals, and on a dark finish you notice it long before the food gets warm. Most often the cure is a hinge or seal adjustment rather than anything inside the sealed system.
On a visit we judge the damp line against the weather, then check how the doors meet. We also look at the crisper humidity sliders, which tend to snap off and get lost, leaving the drawer stuck at one setting; replacement drawer lids are available. The black coating needs gentle care, because magnets and abrasive cleaners mark it for good.
A light film during very humid weather clears by itself. If the strip stays wet on an ordinary day, warm air is getting past the seals and the doors or hinges need adjusting.
The slider sets how much air the drawer vents. With it gone, the drawer stays at a single setting, and produce tends to wilt or turn slimy. A new drawer lid is available as a replacement part, so it is a small fix.
Gently. Magnets, suction hooks and abrasive cleaners mark the coating permanently, so stick to a soft damp cloth with mild detergent and dry the door afterward.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
