Grogan's Mill is where The Woodlands began: the first village opened on October 19, 1974, on land bought from the Grogan-Cochran Lumber Company, the area's last working sawmill. Some of the oldest houses in the community are here, and so are some of its most elaborate.
What we find in Grogan’s Mill homes, and how it shapes a Bosch repair here.
About 5,100 homes spread across 22 neighborhoods, from early 1970s and 1980s houses tucked under the pines to the 465 estates of Grogan's Point and golf lots near The Woodlands Resort. Older homes often keep original cabinet sizes, which limits which replacement appliances fit without carpentry.
The village is served by a Woodlands MUD supplied through the San Jacinto River Authority, whose 30-million-gallon-per-day surface water plant treats Lake Conroe water before it is blended with well water. That mix still leaves minerals in the line, so scale is worth watching in kettles, steam ovens and dishwasher heating elements.
Grogan's Point sits where Spring Creek and Panther Creek meet and has struggled with flooding, most severely during Hurricane Harvey in August 2017. Homes that took water often had laundry appliances replaced, and water-damaged outlets or hoses behind them deserve a second look.
Grogan's Mill kitchens range from original 24-inch cutouts that suit a standard Bosch dishwasher to estate kitchens with paneled Benchmark dishwashers, double wall ovens and built-in coffee machines.
We reach Grogan’s Mill by Woodlands Parkway or Grogan’s Mill Road, and we schedule the village on next-day routes. The village center is being rebuilt around a new Montgomery County library and community center, so expect construction detours near it for a while.
The oldest houses here are now about fifty years old. Electrical circuits in those kitchens were sized for the appliances of the 1970s, and a modern induction cooktop or double oven may need more than the original wiring provides. If a new appliance keeps tripping a breaker, the cause may be the circuit rather than the appliance. We test both and, when wiring is the issue, tell you what an electrician needs to look at.
Usually not, but floodwater can leave corroded outlets, junction boxes or gas connections that were never replaced. If an appliance trips breakers or acts erratically, we check its supply as well as the unit before recommending a part.
Bosch 24-inch dishwashers fit most standard openings, but older cabinets sometimes run short on height. We measure the space and tell you whether leveling legs, a different model or a small cabinet adjustment is needed.
Diagnosis comes first, then a written quote for the specific part and labor. Work starts only after you agree to that figure, and the repair is backed for 30 days.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
