The fridge hums but the milk is warm. Here is how to protect your food, run two quick checks, and tell when a technician needs to step in.
Food safety comes first. If your Bosch refrigerator is running but the shelves feel warm, move perishables into a cooler with ice, keep the doors shut as much as you can, and then start looking for the reason.
First, look at the temperature setting. A bumped dial or a touch-panel change is easy to miss and is a surprisingly common reason for a mild fridge. Second, look at the coils at the back or underneath. A thick mat of dust and pet hair makes it hard for the refrigerator to shed heat, so it struggles to hold temperature.
On models with a readout, an error can point you in the right direction. A failed temperature sensor, which is what we most often find, can show up as E01 or E02. The control board then reads wrong temperatures and may run the cooling cycle badly, even though the compressor sounds normal.
Keep a thermometer in the fridge if you own one. Anything that stays above 40 degrees for hours puts dairy, meat, and leftovers at risk, so when in doubt, throw it out rather than gamble on a stomach bug.
Not long. A closed refrigerator keeps food cold for only a few hours after cooling stops, so we treat this as a same-day problem. Read about our refrigerator repair service, then call us so we can find the earliest opening.
When you book, tell us the model and any code you saw, and we will give you a written price before we start.
