Rayford was a stop on the Missouri Pacific line, a mile east of today's I-45 and a mile north of Harris County. Its post office lasted only from 1915 to 1925, but the name lives on in Rayford Road, one of the busiest corridors in south Montgomery County.
What we find in Rayford homes, and how it shapes a Bosch repair here.
In 1948 Rayford had a switch, a school, a church and a few houses. Subdivisions such as Rayford Forest and Spring Hills now cover much of the old townsite, and the Rayford Road corridor is lined with neighborhoods built from the late 1970s onward.
Rayford Road Municipal Utility District, developed in 1979, covers about 1,153 acres and 3,656 single-family lots, including Imperial Oaks, Imperial Oaks Village and Imperial Oaks Park. Other neighborhoods along the corridor are served by separate MUDs, listed on each water bill.
Summers along the Rayford Road corridor are long and humid, and many homes keep the laundry or a second refrigerator in an attached garage. Heat and damp there shorten the life of dryer thermostats and garage refrigerator fans.
Homes from the 1980s and 1990s often have had kitchens updated with Bosch dishwashers and counter-depth refrigerators; newer homes come with stainless appliance packages and full-size laundry.
We reach the Rayford area from I-45, and traffic on Rayford Road can be heavy at rush hour. Visits are scheduled for the next day. Please give us the subdivision name along with your address, because street names repeat in neighboring sections.
Homes here are reaching ages where builder appliances and their connections are wearing out. Washer hoses older than about five years should be inspected, as rubber hoses can bulge or crack before they burst. Steel-braided replacements are inexpensive. Refrigerator water lines made of thin plastic tubing can become brittle and crack behind the unit, so check them when you pull the refrigerator out to clean. We look at both whenever we work on these appliances.
If they are rubber and more than five years old, replacing them is wise. Steel-braided hoses resist bursting. We can check and replace them during any washer visit.
Rayford Road MUD covers the Imperial Oaks area, while other neighborhoods along the corridor have their own districts. Your water bill names yours, along with a contact for outages.
The written quote lists the part and labor for the repair. Nothing is done until you approve it, and the finished repair has a 30-day labor guarantee.
