A touch control module sits behind the glass panel. Every time the oven powers up, the main control module attempts to load an option code into it, and E044 reports that the load failed. The manual lists a failing touch module or poor wiring to it as the reasons, and says the logged error stays until a reset is done.
1. Turn the oven off at the breaker and give it two minutes, since a reset has to happen before this error will go away. 2. Restore power and watch the start-up. 3. If E044 appears again right away, the write is genuinely failing and not a one-time glitch. 4. Leave the panel alone.
It is a stored value that tells the board which oven it is part of. If the write fails, the touch module cannot be set up correctly.
Possibly. If a board was replaced earlier and the option code was never set properly, E044 can show up at the next start-up, sometimes weeks after the original repair.
We check the connections, test the touch module and set the option code if needed. You see a written price first, and our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
