Fresno is an unincorporated community in eastern Fort Bend County, about 17 miles south of downtown Houston along FM 521. A settler from Fresno, California gave it the name, and suburban growth since the 1990s has turned former cotton land into busy subdivisions.
What we find in Fresno homes, and how it shapes a Bosch repair here.
The land was patented in 1880 and the town gained a post office in 1910. Fresno had 3,182 residents in 1990 and 24,486 in 2020, so most homes are production houses from the late 1990s onward, in subdivisions such as Teal Run, Winfield Lakes and Cambridge Falls.
Fort Bend County MUD 23 supplies water, sewer and drainage for Teal Run, Teal Run North, Estates of Teal Run, Winfield Lakes, Cambridge Falls and Andover Farms, about 1,303 acres in all. Fort Bend County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 on FM 521 serves other parts of the area.
Fresno sits on flat former farmland, and subdivisions here depend on district ditches and detention ponds to carry rain away. Houses with laundry in the garage can see standing water near the washer after heavy storms, so we check machine bases and cords for corrosion.
Production homes here usually have standard 24-inch dishwasher openings and 30-inch ranges, so Bosch 300 Series dishwashers and freestanding or slide-in ranges are common. Many households also keep a second refrigerator or freezer in the garage.
Fresno is in Houston’s extraterritorial jurisdiction but outside any city, so roads and services come from Fort Bend County and the utility districts. We reach the area by FM 521 and the Fort Bend Parkway, and most visits are scheduled for the next day, sometimes same-day if we already have a technician in Missouri City or Arcola.
Many homes here were bought new and still have the original appliance package, now 10 to 25 years old. That is when dishwasher pumps, refrigerator fans and range igniters start to fail. These are usually reasonable repairs. We diagnose the problem, explain the options and give you a written price, so you can decide whether a repair or a replacement makes more sense.
Often yes. A failed fan motor, a dirty condenser or a defrost problem causes many cooling complaints and can be fixed at a fair price. We diagnose first and give you a written price before any work.
No. We serve unincorporated areas the same way as cities. Your address is all we need to place you on the right route, and directions to a newer street that may not show on every map are always welcome.
Fresno is in our outer Fort Bend area, so plan on a next-day visit in most cases. If a technician is already working in Missouri City or Arcola, same-day can happen. Repairs we complete are covered for 30 days.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
