Riverstone is a lake-heavy community along the Brazos where Missouri City and Sugar Land meet. Its houses are mostly from the 2000s and later, and many owners are now replacing or repairing the first round of builder appliances.

Johnson Development began Riverstone in 2001 on about 3,700 acres, planned for roughly 6,000 homes, with builders such as Taylor Morrison and Meritage. Lots range from compact sections to larger lakefront homes, and kitchens across the builders' plans vary widely in layout.
Water service comes through Fort Bend County MUDs 128, 129 and 149, which each run water and sewer facilities for their part of the community. A small area inside Sugar Land city limits gets water and sewer directly from the city.
Riverstone has more than 200 acres of lakes, and two levee improvement districts, No. 15 and No. 19, protect it from Brazos River high water. During long rains the pumps and lakes do their work, but low garage floors can still collect runoff around a laundry pair or spare freezer.
Common setups include Bosch 800 Series dishwashers, 36-inch gas cooktops on islands, wall oven and microwave combinations, and counter-depth refrigerators. Some lakefront homes also have an outdoor kitchen with a separate beverage fridge.
Riverstone straddles two cities and two ZIP codes, and some sections have their own gate rules. Many homes here are at the stage where the original builder appliances begin to need parts.
