Meadows Place is a small, self-contained city just southwest of the Beltway, under one square mile in size. Its houses, the first built in 1968, draw from the city's own water wells and a lake filled with reclaimed water.
What we find in Meadows Place homes, and how it shapes a Bosch repair here.
Ayrshire Corporation bought the farmland and built the first houses in 1968, a year after the Meadows Municipal Utility District was created. The city incorporated in 1983 and added "Place" to its name in 1997. Its 0.93 square miles hold 1,962 housing units, nearly all single-family homes.
The city runs its own water system from three wells. In 2011 it built a lake supplied with reclaimed water for recreation and irrigation, a project ranked second among Texas environmental projects in 2012. The city's annual report gives current well-water test results.
Meadows Place lies in the Brays Bayou watershed, which also drains Stafford and Missouri City. After a big rain, garage laundry and freezers are the first things we check in homes of this age.
Original 1960s and 1970s kitchens fit a 24-inch dishwasher and a 30-inch range, so Bosch 300 Series dishwashers and freestanding ranges are common choices. Remodeled kitchens sometimes add a Bosch counter-depth refrigerator or an over-the-range microwave.
Meadows Place is close to the Southwest Freeway and Beltway 8, so it sits within our inner-suburb routes and same-day visits are often available. The city is compact, and its streets are easy to navigate, with plenty of driveway parking for a service van.
Many houses here are more than 50 years old, and their electrical and plumbing systems have been updated in pieces. When we work on a dishwasher or range, we check the shut-off valve, drain connection and outlet. If something outside the appliance needs attention, such as a corroded valve or an aging outlet, we tell you before going further so you can call the right trade.
It can. Well water often carries more minerals, which leave film and scale. We check the hardness setting, rinse aid level and filter, and give you a written price before any repair.
Most likely. Standard 24-inch openings were common then. We measure the height and depth and check the connections to make sure it fits before installation.
Usually, yes. The city sits just off the Beltway near our inner-suburb routes, so many calls are handled the same day, and the rest the next day. Every repair comes with a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
