Bacliff is an unincorporated bayfront community on the Galveston County side of Highway 146, once known as Clifton-by-the-Sea. What began as a weekend escape is now home to nearly ten thousand people, most of whom commute to jobs around the bay.
What we find in Bacliff homes, and how it shapes a Bosch repair here.
The settlement kept the Clifton-by-the-Sea name until around 1950, and its post office opened in 1961. It sits on FM 646 and Galveston Bay, about 16 miles northwest of Galveston. By the 1980s weekend cabins had given way to a commuter community, and the 2020 census counted 9,677 residents.
Bacliff MUD supplies water to the community and is a customer of the Gulf Coast Water Authority, which treats Brazos River water at the Mackey plant in Texas City. Because Bacliff is not a city, the MUD, not a city hall, handles water outages and notices.
Homes along the bay edge face east into the wind off Galveston Bay. Fine salt settles on outdoor air conditioner coils and on refrigerators kept in garages, and a constant breeze pushes moist air into utility rooms that are not fully sealed.
Bacliff mixes former weekend cottages with newer commuter houses. Smaller homes often have a single dishwasher and a compact laundry pair, while newer houses near the water may have a full Bosch kitchen.
Bacliff sits between Kemah and San Leon on Highway 146, and we cover it on next-day windows alongside those towns. A house number and the nearest cross street let the technician find you quickly.
Older houses in Bacliff sometimes have electrical circuits that were added piece by piece over the years. A dishwasher or range that trips a breaker is not always the appliance’s own problem; it may share a circuit with a microwave, a freezer or a window unit. Before you call, note which breaker trips and what else is on it. If the appliance trips a GFCI outlet, mention that too. We test the appliance first and tell you whether the issue is inside it or in the house wiring.
Not always. In older Bacliff homes, the dishwasher may share a circuit with other loads. We test the heater, pump and wiring inside the unit. If it checks out, we tell you so you can have an electrician look at the circuit.
Yes. Bacliff is unincorporated, and that makes no difference to our service. We schedule by address, and Bacliff is on the same route as Kemah and San Leon.
Yes. Mention both appliances when you book so we allow enough time and bring the right parts. You get a separate price for each repair, and you can approve one, both or neither.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
