On this Bosch double wall oven, the lower door's latch switch has gone silent, and E226 is the result. The control cannot know if that door is shut and locked or standing open, so it cuts power to all the heating elements. A software reset is the only way out of the error. Technicians are pointed at the plugs on the switch, the cable to the control module, and the switch itself.
1. Switch the breaker off for a couple of minutes; that acts as the software reset. 2. Switch it on and check whether both ovens heat again. 3. Notice which ones do, because that tells us how serious it is. 4. If E226 comes back, leave the oven off and call us.
Because the cavities share one control module, a lost latch signal in the lower oven can cause the control to protect the whole unit. We confirm which cavities are affected.
It can clear a one-time glitch, so a single try is fine. If the switch or its wire is failing, E226 comes back and the oven stays down until the part is repaired.
We test the switch, its plugs and the wiring, then give you a written price before any work begins, so the decision is yours. Repairs come with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
