El Lago is a tiny lakeside city on Taylor Lake where many of NASA's early astronauts made their homes. Its logo still shows a Space Shuttle, and its parks carry the names of Neil Armstrong and Ronald McNair.
What we find in El Lago homes, and how it shapes a Bosch repair here.
Many houses in El Lago were custom built for astronauts and their families during the early space program, and the local elementary school is named for Ed White, the first American to walk in space. The city covers only about 0.7 square miles, so the housing stock is small and mostly single-family.
Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 50 provides El Lago's water and sewer service, the same district that also serves part of neighboring Taylor Lake Village. The city does not run a water plant of its own.
El Lago sits low beside Taylor Lake and Clear Lake, and the city has published a repetitive loss area analysis identifying properties flooded more than once. If your laundry room or garage has taken water before, mention it when you call.
Custom homes from the 1960s often have unusual cabinet layouts, with built-in wall ovens and cooktops instead of ranges. Remodeled kitchens here frequently hold Bosch wall ovens, induction cooktops and quiet 24-inch dishwashers.
El Lago is shared by Seabrook’s postal area and patrolled jointly with Taylor Lake Village, and it sits squarely on our Clear Lake routes. Same-day or next-day visits are typical.
Older custom houses can make a simple appliance swap more involved than expected. A wall oven cutout from the 1960s may not match today’s standard 27-inch or 30-inch units, and a dishwasher opening can be shallower than current models. Before you order a replacement, measure the opening width, height and depth and compare them with the installation guide. If you would rather keep a good older appliance running, we will tell you honestly whether the part is still available and what the repair will cost, in writing, before we begin.
Sometimes, but older cutouts often differ from today's sizes. Measure carefully and check the installation guide. We can repair the existing oven if parts are available and quote that repair in writing first.
Raise it on blocks if possible and never run it after it has been in water until it is checked. We inspect the wiring, compressor and controls before it goes back into use.
Usually the same day or the next, since we cover the Clear Lake area daily. All repairs carry our 30-day workmanship warranty, and the price is approved in writing first.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
